Pretty relaxing schedule today......terrific tickets for the first hockey game of the Olympics....USA vs Switzerland. Lots of chants of U.S.A.........we were surprised by the number of Swiss fans and the huge chants of Go Suisse Go......High energy throughout the arena. Everybody we talked to was having a fantastic time. Fast paced game......surprised at the speed and size of the Swiss team....didn't think the Swiss would be able to skate with the USA but they clearly won the 3rd period.
Forget all the nonsense about big lineups and horrible delays. We arrived in line at security and 15 minutes later we were in the arena.
Met some Swiss on the bus ride in......they were heading for the hockey game as well, but they had tickets for the Canada / Norway game later in the day. I had visited their hometown of Lausanne....he knew where the youth hostel I stayed in was located.
The American guy in front of us in the security line had been ripped off by a bogus ticket for the game....so he went out and bought another ticket from a scalper.
Sue brought her telephoto lense and got some amazing shots....
